건축예술의 종합 전시장이라 할 수 있는 두바이에서

또 다른 랜드마크가 될 세계 최대의 분수가 2009년에 탄생될 것입니다.

두바이의 중심가에 들어설 이 분수는 세계 최대라는 설명처럼 거대한 규모를 자랑하는데

50층 건물과 같은 높이인 150m까지 물을 뿜어 올리며 좌우 폭도 축구장 두배를 훌쩍 넘기는 275m라고 합니다.

이 분수도 대형 분수들이 의례히 그런 것처럼 빛과 소리로 화려한 분수쇼를 펼쳐보이게 된다고 하는데

6,600개의 조명과 50대의 프로젝터를 동원해 이런 화려한 분수쇼를 연출할 것이라고 합니다.
년간 1,000만의 관광객이 이 분수가 연출하는 장관을 지켜보게 될 것이라고 하는데...

 

Emaar Properties said on Monday it plans to build one of the largest

 fountains in the world as the centrepiece of its Downtown Burj Dubai project.

Arabian Business reveals what the real estate giant has in store.

The fountains, which has yet to be named, will be capable of shooting water over 150 metres into the air - the height of a 50-storey building - and stretch over 275 metres - the length of two football fields.

The $218 million project will be 25 percent larger than the iconic fountains at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas. Like the Fountains of Bellagio, Emaar's fountains will include an integral light and sound show and is expected to become one of Dubai's major tourist attractions, drawing over 10 million visitors per year.

The fountains will shoot 22,000 gallons of water in the air at any given moment and feature over 6,600 lights and 50 color projectors. The structure is due for completion in 2009 and is yet to be named.
